Delete your account

You can delete your Qurba account and its data at any time. It takes a few taps and does not require contacting us.

Delete from the app

  1. Open Qurba and go to Profile (the last tab).
  2. Tap the gear to open Settings, then Manage account.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first, because Apple and Google require a recent sign-in before an account can be deleted.

Deletion starts immediately. You are signed out, and your account cannot be recovered afterwards.

Request by email

If you no longer have the app installed, or cannot sign in, email support@qurba.us from the address you used to sign up, with the subject “Delete my Qurba account”. We will confirm your identity by replying to that address and complete the deletion within 30 days. If you signed in with Apple and used Hide My Email, write from the relay address Apple created, or include your Qurba username.

What gets deleted

  • Your account, login, email address, phone number and profile (name, username, photo, bio).
  • Your saved lists, favourites, follows and followers, notification settings and push token.
  • Your Khair points, roles, streaks and leaderboard standing.
  • Your reviews, ratings, photos, votes and vouches are removed or disassociated from your identity. Aggregate counts a place already earned (for example, that it reached the community-vouched threshold) are not recalculated retroactively.
  • Places you submitted stay on the map, since they are public information about a business, not about you. Your name is removed from them.

What we may keep

  • Records we are legally required to keep, or that are needed to resolve a dispute or enforce our Terms (for example, a record that an account was closed for abuse).
  • Anonymised, aggregated statistics that no longer identify you.
  • Copies in routine backups, which expire on their own schedule.

Rather not delete everything?

  • Turn off notifications in Settings → Notifications, or in iOS Settings.
  • Remove a single review or photo from the ⋯ menu on that item.
  • Change your display name or photo in Edit profile. You never have to use your legal name.

Questions about your data are answered in the Privacy Policy.
